Lights off, a single candle, and a spirit answering questions. Except the spirit is sitting right at the table.
A bluffing social game wrapped in a ghost story. In total darkness, the group asks a spirit yes-or-no questions, and the spirit responds via table taps. However, the spirit is secretly one of the players sitting at the table trying to tap undetected. Played in complete darkness around a flickering candle, it creates an intensely eerie and paranoid atmosphere before the laughs kick in.
Sit around a table in total darkness with a single candle lit in the center. Secretly designate one player as the Spirit (e.g., via drawing cards) before extinguishing main lights. Everyone must place both palms flat on the table.
Going around the circle, each player asks the spirit one yes-or-no question out loud.
The secret Spirit answers by subtly tapping the tabletop with a finger: 1 tap for YES, 2 taps for NO.
The Spirit must answer every question and is completely free to lie or manipulate responses.
After a full round of questions, everyone points at who they suspect is the Spirit on a 3-2-1 countdown.
If the vote is split with no clear majority, everyone takes 1 sip and play continues.
If the majority correctly identifies the Spirit, the Spirit takes 2 penalty sips and a new Spirit is chosen.
If the majority points at an innocent player, the falsely accused drinks 2 sips and the Spirit survives another round.
Designate two secret Spirits who don't know each other's identity. Conflicting taps from different sides of the table will drive the room mad.
Before the round starts, the Spirit secretly writes down the name of a victim on a slip of paper. If the Spirit survives the round undetected, the slip is revealed and the chosen player takes 3 sips.
