A classic card-based drinking game where each card rank triggers a different rule.
King's Cup (also known as Ring of Fire or Circle of Death) is one of the most popular drinking card games. Players sit around a cup and take turns drawing cards from a shuffled deck, each card triggering a different rule or action.
Shuffle a standard deck of cards and spread them face-down in a circle around a large cup (the King's Cup) in the center of the table. Each player has their own drink.
Players take turns clockwise, drawing one card at a time from the circle. Each card triggers the rule for that rank.
Ace — Waterfall: Everyone starts drinking simultaneously. The first player may stop whenever they want — everyone else must keep drinking until the person to their right stops first.
2 — You: Point at any player — they drink.
3 — Me: You drink.
4 — Floor: Last player to touch the floor drinks.
5 — Guys: All men drink.
6 — Chicks: All women drink.
7 — Heaven: Last player to point upward drinks.
8 — Mate: Pick a drinking buddy — they drink whenever you drink for the rest of the game (until another 8 is drawn).
Before the game, the group agrees on their own card meanings instead of the standard ones. Great for regulars who want a fresh challenge.
A card game of hierarchy and power. The winner becomes President; the loser becomes the Asshole.
Guess the dealer's card, you only get 2 tries; if you miss, you drink the difference. Guess right and the dealer drinks.
9 — Rhyme: Say a word; players in turn must say a rhyming word. First to fail or hesitate drinks.
10 — Categories: Name a category (e.g. 'car brands'). Players take turns naming items in it. First to fail or repeat drinks.
Jack — Rule: Make up a rule that applies for the rest of the game. Anyone who breaks it drinks.
Queen — Question Master: You become the Question Master. Any player who answers your question directly (instead of replying with another question) drinks. Role lasts until the next Queen is drawn.
King — King's Cup: Pour some of your drink into the central cup. The player who draws the 4th King must drink the entire King's Cup.
The game ends when all cards are drawn or the King's Cup is consumed.
