A memory-based card drinking game where matching cards make you drink first, then hand out drinks.
Grim Reaper is a simple but surprisingly brutal drinking game played with a standard deck of cards. At the beginning of each round, every player receives four face-up cards that everyone can see. Players then draw cards one by one from the deck. If a drawn card matches the value of one of your four cards, you either drink or assign drinks depending on the current phase. The game starts with everyone drinking their own penalties before switching to a second phase where matching cards let you punish other players, creating plenty of opportunities for revenge and chaos.
Deal four face-up cards to every player. Leave the remaining cards in a draw pile. Everyone should be able to see every player's four cards.
Draw cards from the deck one at a time.
If the drawn card matches the value of one of your four cards, you drink. Your first matching card is worth 1 sip, the second 2 sips, the third 3 sips, and the fourth 4 sips.
Continue drawing until every player has matched all four of their cards.
Start a new round by dealing four new face-up cards to everyone.
Repeat the game, but this time matching cards let you GIVE drinks instead of taking them. The first match gives 1 sip, the second 2, the third 3, and the fourth 4.
Continue until all four matches have been found for every player or stop whenever the group decides.
Play only the drinking phase if you want a shorter game.
Skip directly to the giving phase so players can immediately target each other.
Reveal your way up a pyramid of cards. Keep drawing high cards to climb higher—draw a low card and drink for every level you reached.
